You’re Invited to Minnesota Crew’s 2023 Spring Kickoff Event!
Friends of Minnesota Crew invites alumni, family, and friends of the rowing community to connect with the current team for a celebration to kick-off the upcoming Spring season. Join us at Saint Paul Brewing for hors d'oeuvres, dinner and drinks over a small program to celebrate the start of a new season under new leadership.
Colleen Toberman from Friends of the Mississippi River will make a presentation about the ongoing disposition study by the Army Core of Engineers about the two lock and dams that form our stretch of the river. These locks are now obsolete and the study is examining the many issues involving what to do with them. One option is removal, which would create a gorge of rapids that would eliminate rowing. New head coach Scott Armstrong will also talk about his first year at Minnesota and his goals for the future. We will also recognize some our notable donors, provide updates on the team as they prepare for the upcoming racing season, and discuss the plans for next year.
Donate to the 2023 Minnesota Crew Spring Travel & Nutrition Donation Fund!
The total cost of regatta nutrition for the spring season is about $11,000. Help Friends raise $6,000 from 200 donors to finance athlete meals. Suggested donation: $30 per donor.
